Gold medal for Château des Crêtes 2021 from Cave Vevey-Montreux at the Mondial des Vins Blancs international competition in Strasbourg.
The new team at Cave Vevey-Montreux has won a gold medal for its Chasselas Château des Crêtes 2021 in the “other grape varieties” category at the “Mondial des vins blancs” in Strasbourg.
On April 15 and 16, 2023, Strasbourg’s Palais de la Musique et des Congrès hosted the 25th edition of the “Mondial des vins blancs”, the world’s only international competition dedicated entirely to the diversity of white wines.
The event is sponsored by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV). It is also a member of VINOFED, the World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions, which currently comprises 15 major competitions. Recognition on national and international markets with a maximum of 30% medals awarded, according to OIV standards. This year, 659 samples from 19 countries were submitted. That’s how prestigious the medal won by “La Cave” is!
Derek Shaw, Cave Vevey-Montreux’s new head of sales and marketing, and an international taster, is delighted with the medal he won. “Our medal is all the more extraordinary given that the” other white grape variety “category brings together wines far more renowned than our Chasselas, itself classified in the Lavaux 3 category. In all honesty, we can be very proud,” he emphasizes.
This gold medal rewards an entire team, presided over by President Pierre-Alain Cardinaux, which includes the 40 members of the Cave Vevey-Montreux, Managing Director and Oenologist Alexis Praz, and his entire team.
This is a magnificent recognition of the quality of the work carried out all year round in the vineyards and cellars, and an encouragement to continue in this direction in order to showcase the wines of Montreux and the Vaud Riviera to their best advantage.
