The presence of a place of worship on this rocky promontory - with one of the few flat terraces in the region - dates back more than a thousand years, revealing its importance. When the first chapel was built in the 8th century AD, the church was probably surrounded by vines. It is still surrounded by vines 13 centuries later, and the temple bears the name of the patron saint of winegrowers, Saint-Vincent. The walls of the parish church, with their Gothic simplicity, breathe, as does this Gamay with its beautiful red color, harmonious and velvety on the palate.

The vines that spread out on a gentle south-east-facing slope are well “capped”: not only by the winegrowers who tend them, but also by the red brick building, flanked by a turret, that overlooks them. The Château des Crêtes was built in neo-Renaissance style by the “King of Parisian Gas”, Vincent Dubochet (1796-1877), the son of a Montreux farmer who returned to his native land to make his success a reality, right next to where Rousseau set his “Nouvelle Héloïse”. With its fruity, full-bodied bouquet, it is very elegant and pleasant on the palate.

This powerful red blend of three grape varieties - Galotta, Garanoir and Cabernet Franc - was born on the sunny terraces next to Château des Crêtes. Part of the harvest is aged in old-fashioned crates for at least 6 weeks. After fermentation in oak barrels, the wine rests in barriques for more than one full cycle of the seasons.
